FAQs

How much do you charge per session?

My rate is currently $120 per hour for both in-person and online tutoring sessions.

Where do you usually meet student when tutoring in-person?

It depends on the age of the student. For high school and middle school students I often meet them at their home or apartment. For college or post-bacc students, I often meet them in public places like libraries, coffee shops, or other study spots.

Why do you not teach Orgo virtually?

The honest answer is that I have tried in the past and the results are never to my liking. Orgo requires that a student be able to rotate and view molecules in three dimensions and this can be very difficult to demonstrate virtually. Also, Orgo lessons include a lot of drawing of reaction mechanisms and I find it much more effective and efficient to do this when I am sitting next to a student.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

I ask that students give me a 24 hour notice is they need to cancel. But I recognize that things always come up in life so I always my students one freebie. If they break the policy a second time, I will charge them for the missed session unless there were extreme circumstances.

This all sounds great! I’d love for you to help me with my class. What are the next steps?

First, I’d like to say thank you for entrusting me with helping you! The first steps would be the contact me by phone or email(info on the contact page) and we will then set up a short phone call(usually 15-20 min) where I can learn a little bit more about you, your class, you learning style, and what you hope to get out of the tutoring experience. It will also give you an opportunity to ask me any questions about myself and the tutoring process. Then, if everything goes well, we can discuss logistics for our first lesson.
